America's team

Everybody loves the Saints. How can you not with the tragedy that occurred in New Orleans, Drew Brees, Sean Peyton and Reggie Bush? They have one of the best offenses in the league. They will fun to watch in the superbowl, or at least that is what every NFL analysts thinks. Everywhere I turn on ESPN, I hear how the Saints are going to win this game. This entire country is rooting/betting for the Saints, and that is precisely why I will be going against them. This Saints team is running on the same emotion that fueled Loyola Marymount in the NCAA tournament when Hank Gathers died. But emotion can take you only so far. Don't forget that this Saints team was the second worst team in the NFL last year.

Don't get wrong, I would love the Saints to win and I am pulling for them as well. I can't stand this Bears team and Rex GROSSman. But to expect Cinderella to come into Soldier field and beat the Bears is unrealistic. Vegas is begging us to take the Bears at -2.5 and I will. This line will be -2 or -1.5 by kickoff.

Bears -2.5

I can't make up my mind on the second game. I don't want to bet against Brady or Manning. I like both quarterbacks. I would like Manning to be viewed in a better light so I am going with the colts. My edge goes to Bob Sanders on the defensive side versus a gimpy Rodney Harrison.

Reluctantly, I will take the Colts -3.5

Hoops:

Great games this weekend, as usual.

ILLINOIS +2 vs. Wisconsin
Wisconsin is my pick to play (and lose in the national title game). They are still great, but this will be a tough game for them to win.

ARIZONA +6 @ Ucla
Arizona has not been playing, but I can't resist taking this many points.

AIR FORCE -11.5 vs. San Diego State
The aztecs have the joy of playing this great "angry" team.

TEXAS A&M -9.5 vs Oklahoma state
Anything left in the tank after that 3OT game vs. Texas? A&M will punish the cowboys.

He said, she said

Well done Susan B. Anthony. You started off with a bang, going 4-4. This may not be the smartest thing, but I am going against you again. I predict a letdown game for the Bruins tonite as they rest Josh Shipp and look ahead to the big showdown with Arizona.

Arizona State +19.5

The other interesting game is your "favorite" team, Stanford. They are playing great of late, with the Lopez twins and Goods running the point. Tonite's game will be a classic battle of chess to see which coach blinks first. Will Stanford have to eliminate their height to keep up with the four guard attack, or will Oregon have to make some adjustments to battle the height of the Cardinal? Regardless of the outcome, this game will be close.

Stanford +10

Play a Streak

Early consensus is that Susan B. is ready to hit her stride. The board looks good again tonight. One thing that your can bet on, is the inconsistency of college basketball teams. Witness Virginia Tech and Alabama who are both rollercoaster teams.

Northern Arizona +6.5, competitive league game between two teams vying for the title.

Hofstra-10 will blow out a bad Towson team.

UCLA will embarrass Arizona St -19.5. Cover will come in the early 2nd half and this game will be between 25-35 for the last 10 minutes.

Good Luck

HOOP JUNKIE'S UNITE!

Good morning to all you addicts who need to check the lines early and make some money for your upcoming trip to Vegas where you will surely give it all to the All-American Bar and Grill at the Rio. The buffalo wings are worth it, but don't sleep on the Huge club sandwich and the O'douls!

Susan B. Anthony has her own currency, so she doesn't need your money, she just needs freethrows to go in down the stretch for the favorite, and the late 3 for the dog! You will make money if you follow the line I will set out for you. College basketball is a game of streaks and runs, the most important run is between the 12 minute and 8 minute time out in the second half. Gaming is the same, with 3-5 postings a day, you will mostly win about 60% of your games, but periodically you will hit 5-7 games in a row. This is where you make money. If you pick and choose which games to play, you are not utilizing the Susan B. Anthony knowledge.

Tonight there is a full board, and the tempting thing to do is play all the TV games, this will be a difficult way to make money. If you want to play these games, play them for 1 unit and play these picks for 2 or more.

Blowout special- Drexel -15.5 hosting Northeastern

High Profile game- North Carolina -3.5 at Clemson. North Carolina will show its domination in the paint.

Hangover, we are not really that good game. Florida St -2.5 at home vs Virginia Tech.

I can't believe you would bet this game. Bucknell will bounce back in league on the road. No line is yet published, but they will be about +2

Out Susan B.

Four Corners

We now have less than 60 days before the start of the NCAA tournament. It is time to get serious and remove our college bowl game hats and put on our bracketology ones.

Money is planning on bringing in syndicated handicapper Susan B Anthony (formerly Mrs. A) to bounce college hoops thoughts off of.

In the meantime, we will be publishing games when we see the Money picks come in. As we move along, we will add more features for the remainder of the season.

College pick:

UCONN +7.5 at Pitt
